1. Cost advantage

2. Wide temperature range
Sodium ion batteries can work in a wide temperature range, which can be charged under temperature of -10°C ~ 60°C and discharge under temperature of -30°C ~ 60°C. Excellent performance under low temperature is a highlight of sodium ion battery, and it is especially suitable for the cold regions and outdoor applications. As test result shows, when sodium ion batteries discharge at 0.5C at the temperature of -20°C, the discharge capacity is more than 80%.

3. Better safety and environmental protection
Sodium ion batteries are more stable than lithium ion batteries. Sodium ion batteries generate less heat when in short circuit, and aluminum negative electrode is less likely to overdischarge. They can even discharge to 0V without damaging the battery. Therefore, sodium ion batteries have better stability and safety than lithium ion batteries, even in extreme conditions such as high temperature, overcharge and overdischarge etc. In addition, the positive and negative electrode materials of sodium ion batteries usually use non-toxic metals and inorganic substances, and the electrolyte is also relatively stable. Sodium ion batteries are environmentally friendlier to some extent.

4. Long cycle life
Lead acid batteries only have cycle life of 300~600 times, and they need to be replaced after being used for 1 or 2 years. While cycle life for sodium ion batteries can be up to 4000 times, which is comparable to lithium ion batteries. With long cycle life and higher cost effectiveness, sodium ion battery is a perfect alternative to lead acid battery and even lithium ion battery.
